I thought I'd take a moment here and explain the fairly new concept of the "Executive Affiliate ".

Some of you have heard this term around, in forums and possibly on live training calls. I know I've had several team members asking me just what it denotes. I did ask about it and here is the explanation:

An Executive Affiliate is simply a member who has decided to use their PIF4P system, and has affiliated with any or all of the programs necessary to make it work: GDI, Traffic Oasis, Success University, and a Primary Program.

One of the things that our PIF4P's system does so well, is assisting us with time-management. The designation of Executive Affiliate is simply a good way for us to
determine how much time we should be spending with someone. It's an easy way of labelling where our concentration of time will be directed, and it will assist you active PIF4P'ers greatly.

Let me explain that like this: As a PIF4P's Senior Manager, I am quickly approaching 200 Members. If any of these Members need my help in evaluating, configuring, or setting up their home business system, I am more than willing to accomodate them. There are many of you reading this that know that's true.

However, I simply don't have the time, and it's not my job, to chase people down and try to convince them to make use of their PIF4P's system. They have to decide that on their own ... I can't do it for them. The system is right there for everyone to see, we're all adults here, and that is a decision that is completely up to the individual.

So ... out of the group of "unaffiliated members " ... if these folks would like my help, I'm more than willing to provide it. However, they must contact me. My e-mail,
phone number, and IM id's are all in their Member's areas or in this article, and any one of that group is welcome to contact me for help at any time they wish. Just the simple act of contacting me tells me something: that you are serious about creating a home business on the Internet, and that you MIGHT be someone I should consider spending more time with. However, at this point, my PIF4P's system has not verified for me that these folks are committed to their own success to a point where I should devote much more time than is simply polite.

Now, the designation of Executive Affiliate is granted and applied to any associate who has affiliated with the programs I've mentioned above. At the point that someone becomes an EA, my PIF4P's system is e-mailing me with notifications, and verifying for me that this person has committed, in a concrete manner, to pursuing a business opportunity with me. They are now in my downline in at least one company, and it is now my responsibility to help them become successful in any way I can.

At that point, they will, rightly, have a claim on much more of my time and personal guidance than they did when they were simply a member. This is automated
time management that can be duplicated, because its built right into the system.

So, having said all this, and now understanding just what the term "Executive Affiliate " denotes, I would lay it out this way:

If you are a Member of our ProfitMasters Team, I applaud you and welcome you. I am there to assist you if you need me. If you have questions at any time, please feel free to call or e-mail and I'll do my best to answer them or at least direct you to the location within your system where the answer can be found.

If you would like closer guidance, and more of my time devoted to helping you to get your new home business up and running ... I would encourage you to become
an Executive Affiliate. The affiliate programs within your Funded Sponsoring Franchise system are necessary to make your system work. Without incorporating them into your system, it's not going to be effective anyway, and as a Senior Manager I need to devote my time to those folks who can show me that they actually are serious about their new business venture. I'm sure that, when you really think about this, you'll see how much sense it makes, and how this type of time management system will help you as you build your own business.

Those of you who are currently Executive Affiliates can testify to the fact that, once you've achieved this status, my time is yours to the absolute extent of my abilities, and that I will do everything I can to help you in any way you might need me.

So, those of you who are unaffiliated members, but who would like to begin to make use of your PIF4P's home business system ... the first step is to become an Executive Affiliate. When you do, call me or e-mail. Let's figure out from that point just what I can do to help you.

Over and above that, there is one other step available to you that you can consider to insure your success at PIF4P's. That, of course, is The Advanced Mentoring
Team.

The Advanced Mentoring Team is Paul Birdsall's personal training and working group within PIF4P. I am a Member of the AMT, and 7 of the others who you will find on this week's ProfitMasters Leaderboard in your Team Newsletter are members as well. That's a good indication to you that we are speaking of something very powerful here.

As members of the AMT, we all work personally with Paul. Additionally, I devote the majority of my time to working with my AMT members. These are the people that I will actually seek out ... I will call them... to find out if I can help and if there's anything they might need from me. We work together on an almost daily basis, and each of them would tell you that I am always there for them and they can rely on me to make sure I'm aware of anything they might need from me.

New 3 Step Secret Page

Some of you started to notice last Thursday ... those really observant and active folks ... you know who you are ... that the 3 Step Secret website had changed. The change was announced and explained on Saturday's Breakfast call. If you missed that one ... you missed a great one.

The new 3 Step Secret page is a stroke of genius. It's basically the same as the old one, BUT ... no one has to join GDI or anything else ... before they can gain access to their new PIF4P home business system!

Those who enter through the 3 Step Secret webpage are now given exactly what they want and should have ... full access to a great Internet Home Business system, including the training, live calls, recorded calls, the forums, the affiliate programs, and the entire Advanced Internet Marketing Success Guide ... all of it ... before they need to committ to anything at all.

I think this will be great. The Pay It Forward 4 Profits Funded Sponsoring Franchise system has no competition that's even close when it comes to providing a way to create a viable, solid, reliable, long-term and profitable home business. It just doesn't. Go look ... you won't find it.

So ... if your best "selling point" is simply that there's nothing else even like you (let alone better) ... why not just let everyone that wants to investigate have complete and total access. Then they can simply decide to use their system if they'd like ... or they can simply walk away.

At any rate ... that's now the 3 Step process, so if you haven't taken a look at your new webpage, go check it out.

The new 3 Step process has also caused some autoresponder changes. For those of you who have not yet done it, there is a new letter list to upload. To do that you would go to your Member's Area, and click on the "Marketing" tab. From the drop-down menu, select "Response Magic". Then select "Upload Response Magic E-Mails". At the page that follows, simply make the two boxes both say "New 3 Step", and then click "Copy E-Mails".

That will copy your new list over to Response Magic.

Remember this: Unlike the old process with the 3 Step Splash page, our new 3 Step members ARE MEMBERS OF PIF4P. The new 3 Step list is NOT a newsletter anymore. Our 3 Step list contacts have joined PIF4P, and the mailings they receive from your system are designed only to instruct and assist them with it's use... setting it up and getting it going so that they can start to use it to earn money as quickly as possible. That means that your Members appear now in two lists: PIF4P, AND 3 Step.

Implementing a marketing system for your home business, or starting a home business from scratch, is not an easy job. Too often we fall prey to the sales pages on the Internet that continually tell us of the thousands we'll make in our first week, or the hundreds we'll sponsor in our first month.

In my business I coach and mentor scores of people in how to use the marketing system I use to promote their MLM or network marketing businesses. That system, known as Pay-It-Forward-4-Profits, contains a huge amount of training resources that are available to anyone who wants to use the system to promote their current business or to create a new home business. Those resources are extensive and complete in order to deliver a good education in how to run a successful, long-term and solid Internet-based business.

Internet marketing is an interesting industry. It's filled with people, intelligent and motivated, who lack knowledge in only two areas: the Internet and marketing. We are an industry made up almost entirely of people who hear that it's easy to make a huge income on the net in a matter of days, with no experience, no knowledge and almost no investment at all of either time or money. Many of us buy right into this myth the same way we did with the tooth fairy.

I can't tell you how many times I've received a call from one of my new trainees who will say something like this:

“Oh my God! I can't believe how much stuff is in there! Am I supposed to learn all that?”

Of course, we know what the short answer is here, but the interesting thing to me is the surprise. This tells me that the person uttering this sentence expected the process of starting a home business on the Internet to be an easy one ... even though they had absolutely no experience in this kind of endeavor previously. They had obviously, somewhere along the line, bought into that myth of the “auto-pilot money machine”, and expected to click here, copy and paste there, and then go on vacation as the huge checks rolled in.

That's not starting a business...that's daydreaming. It's an expectation of opportunity, without any accompanying adversity, and that is simply not how the Universe works.

To get past that stumbling block, we all must come to an understanding of the relationship between opportunity and adversity. This trainee was looking for one without the other. That's a fantasy and simply doesn't exist.

Very often, a trainee who asks the question above will follow it with something like: “That's impossible! I'll never get through it all.” Then they'll fall prey to the “deer-in-the-headlights” syndrome, and simply freeze up, unable to move further. If they can't shake themselves out of this state, they'll fall by the wayside and disappear.

Interestingly enough, this is also the same trainee who will tell me about all the different businesses they've been involved in before. They'll have a million reasons why this company was no good, or that pay plan was ridiculous, or nobody wanted this other product. They had made discoveries about each opportunity they tried, one after the other, that explained to them why the opportunity was a bad one. So they left each.

Note two things here: They left without success, and the fault was never theirs.

Obviously, success can't be achieved by abandoning an opportunity prematurely. What's not so obvious, at least to the person with this mind-set, is that the fault didn't lie with the company, where they would like to put the blame. The fault was their own. They were willing to accept the opportunity, but not the adversity that naturally comes with it.

Every opportunity comes with its own adversity and vice versa. That is a natural cycle of the Universe, like the seasons. If I'm in adversity today, even if I don't do a single thing about it, things will eventually change. The adversity will cease of its own accord. The problem this trainee has with all of their past companies and opportunities, lies in how they react to adversity.

Why do some other people succeed in those same companies? This trainee will tell you it's because they were lucky, or they knew someone, or some such drivel. The reality is quite different. This person failed in those companies because they reacted to adversity in a different manner than those who succeeded in those very same opportunities.

Here's what I'm driving at ... finally. If you actually want to create a home business for yourself, or create huge growth in one you already operate, you'll need to do much more than simply recognize a good opportunity. You'll also need to accept the adversity that naturally accompanies that opportunity. You'll need to recognize that you must overcome that adversity. Then you simply tuck your head down and trudge right through it to the other side.

Yes ... there is a lot of work to do.

Yes ... there is a lot of stuff to learn.

How can anyone expect to create something worthwhile without the adversities of work and study? It seems almost silly when you lay it out like this, and yet I run into it constantly.

Don't be deflected from your opportunity by the mere threat of adversity. Do what you need to do, and you will learn what you need to learn. Work on something today, and there will be one thing you won't have to do tomorrow.

Work and learning bring rewards.

Nobody said it would be easy, so don't demand that the Universe behave differently for you than it does to anyone else. Simply proceed down the road towards your opportunity. Welcome your adversities, knowing that the attainment of your goals will come through your own perseverance.

Don't give up.

Hey everybody!

I've just updated some things here that you should know about. Most of these things will be for more advanced Pay It Forward 4 Profits members, but if they're not your cup of tea right now ... they will be soon. We're seeing more additions to our Team Leaderboard every day now, and you'll be seeing those results in this next Team Newsletter.

I've updated the Links section of the blog on the right. In there you'll find quite a few new resources that I wanted to draw your attention to...

Under "Safelists", you'll now find links to several good lists that weren't there before:

Rent-A-List is, by far, the best Safelist I've found. It's extremely responsive, and they do it in such a way that the list isn't saturated. It's great and very economical.

Smart-List is a good one. I've had pretty good results there.

AdSolutiOnline is a hybrid. One mailer is untargeted, and you can just use that daily with your membership. The other is credit-based. You must view e-mails and web pages to earn credits. When you use the cred-based mailer, you can target your prospects very specifically.
Here's a recommendation: if you're going to build up credits on a system like AdSolutiOnline... use a tabbed browser. The new Internet Explorer 7 has been released and it's great. You can actually "view" many web pages at once, earning credits very quickly.

Under "Networking For Leads", you'll find "Conquer Your Niche Forum". This is a great new concept from Russell Brunson. Ads are displayed on the site. Each time you post in the forum you earn credits for displaying your ads ...

PIF4P'ers have a great advantage in a place like this. Everyone there has a business to promote ... we're not offering them another business ... we offer them a Free Franchise that will help their business grow bigger and faster.

Conquer Your Niche Forum is something I recommend everyone incorporate into their daily routine. I've had very good results so far ... and it's brand new. It's not over-run with other PIF4P'ers yet, so get in there and do your stuff!

Under "List Builders", you'll find the new and fun site called "List Lotto". It's very cheap to get a Pro membership right now, but it will be going up soon, so hurry if you want to do that.

List Lotto is kewl. They have drawings for the opportunity to mail to the list. You get entries in the Lotto for referrals and membership level. It's just getting started, so you might want to check it out.

Under "Services", you'll now find "Article Marketer". This is simply the best way to get your articles distributed around the net. It's simple, inexpensive, and incredibly effective. We currently have hundreds of people a day visiting this blog. That's all due to Article Marketer. Anyone interested in incorporating article writing and distribution as one of their strategies to drive traffic to their PIF4P website really needs to be using these guys.

Under "Software" I've included a gizmo called "Instant Booster". Now, I'm not a great one for Blast-o-matics and Leads-o-matics, and Blasting your ads to Billions, etc. What all these thing seem to do is just get me a lot of crappy e-mail.

However, I decided to try this particular piece of software, and what do you know ... I got a signup off of one of the ads it posted not five days after I started using it. So, each night, before I go to bed, I set it up to send out 32 different ads to millions of Free For All web sites and directories, like Yahoo and Google and all the smaller ones. It takes about three hours to go through it's process, and it's done in the morning when I get up. I'm getting some results from it, so I'm passing it on here.

Three hints about anything like Instant Booster:

1) Don't just write one PIF ad. This is "keyword" based. These FFA's and search engines have different categories for their ads. I have PIF4P ads for "mlm", "network marketing", "business", etc., etc. If you do this, the software will submit your ad several times to each directory, each time under a different category.

2) If you're going to use something like Instant Booster, set it up with a seperate e-mail address. this thing posts to FFA pages where you are agreeing to accept e-mail offers in return for posting. Also, many of these sites send out "Confirm Your Posting" e-mails. You don't want all this crud in your business e-mail. I've created one e-mail address at GDI just for this purpose

3) Don't pay any attention to the "Confirm Your Posting", or "Confirmation Required" e-mails. Just go into your special account every couple of days and DELETE EVERYTHING. The confirmation requests are just bull ... there are ads in the e-mails they want you to read. Don't let them distract you ... be brutal! Delete the buggers!

Choosing Your MLM Opportunity

MLM or Multi Level Marketing, on or off the Internet, is probably the business structure that offers the most opportunity for all involved. Everyone from the consumer to the business owner and builder can benefit greatly from this exciting business model. Choosing which MLM opportunity to take up as your own can be a daunting and sometimes harrowing task.

For every truly good MLM business opportunity, there are hundreds of fly-by-night, pre-launch, flavor-of-the-month, startups, all put together by people who have no intention of creating or contributing anything lasting to their enrollees or society. All of these “Hot Opportunities” and “Auto-Pilot” money-makers give good, solid, respectable MLM companies a bad name, and can make it very difficult for the sincere MLM'er to distinguish between the gold and the brass.

If you are currently contemplating becoming involved in an MLM opportunity, here are some things to keep in mind which may help to guide you in your selection:

1) A good MLM opportunity will have products that are unique enough to be able to receive patents. The products must serve multiple market categories, and must serve the masses, not just one strata of society.

2) The company must have a record of long term stability...no startups or “hot pre-launch” opportunities.

3) The company must provide a simple, effective marketing system...one that can be used by anyone and whose use anyone can duplicate. Failing that, it must at least lend itself to use by someone using such a system, and allow you to market it in that way.

4) The company must be led by successful business leaders, with a verifiable history of accomplishment and a vision for growth.

5) The company should be in a state of beginning to expand globally, using the Internet.

6) The compensation plan should maximize your income based on your efforts. It should pay out at least 50% of sales and should offer unlimited depth within the compensation plan, fast start bonuses, and other rewards and recognition.

MOST IMPORTANT HERE: you must be able to achieve $10,000 per month true residual income with less than 500 people in your organization.

and...

7) The company should contribute something of value to society, and be conscious of conducting its business effectively while preserving the environment, making a positive impact on the world at large.

All of those things are simple prerequisites of Good Business.

On the Internet today, the great majority of companies you will run across are being run by people who are truly experts in one thing...the Internet. They have no true Business background.

We've all heard the saying, “The Internet changed everything”. Well, it didn't. It only changed the environment. The activity itself is still Business, and these people know nothing, and care nothing, about creating a long-term, truly functional organization, designed to serve its customers, its distributors, its executives, and society itself. They do a complete disservice to the concept of MLM and network marketing and the entrepreneurs who participate in it.

In my MLM businesses, I often relate this concept to my enrollees/trainees in this manner:

Let's say you are going to perform an activity within a certain environment. The activity will be reading a book, and let's suppose that the environment will be your living room. You'll naturally perform the activity in a manner allowed by the environment. You'll probably sit in a comfortable chair with a cup of coffee or cold drink nearby.

If you want to perform that same activity in a different environment, say at a Metallica concert, you will perform it in a slightly different manner...perhaps using earplugs and a flashlight.

However, even though the environment is changed, and therefore you adjust some aspects of how you perform the activity, the activity itself remains the same.

You still need to know how to read.

Business is still business. Plan long-term, solidly, with one eye on the past and one on the future. Don't be misled by fads, fashions, or hype. Choose you MLM opportunity using the guidelines of time-tested business principles and you won't go wrong.

I've been saying that changes were coming to the Member's Area at PIF4P. Well......

They're Here! AND.....They're Great!

You know how I've struggled to simplify the setup process for my enrollees. That's why I finally came up with the 7-Step process I posted on the blog the other night.

Well, Paul and Joel have simplified it even more. The "7-Step Process" is no longer necessary. New enrollees can now simply "Follow the big red buttons"....Step 1, Step 2, and Step 3. Can't get much more simple than that. AND...... there is really no need for them to even go to the "Affiliate Links" menu at all.......all those steps are covered, affiliate links uploaded, AND the Response Magic autoresponder is upgraded, all in the three red buttons......just follow the process.

Direct Matches and Adland Pro are now included in the setup proceedure, AND the new enrollee
is signed up in those services directly under you, and trained in their use to get them going quickly so they can get signups right away.

I would like to urge ALL PIF4P'ers to go through this process carefully yourself. You need to know what happens there so you can teach your enrollees how to duplicate it.

This is going to make things so much easier for you, AND so much more DUPLICATEABLE for your enrollees.

I'd like to draw your attention to something else:

7-Step Process For Beginning PIF4P Enrollees

I Promise This Is The LAST ONE!

I'm sure you're all going to be overjoyed to see this, but hey, folks, this is a learnin curve for all of us. I'm just a little ahead of most of you, so....stuff happens.

I've been refining what I believe to be a simple and clear start up process for all new enrollees in the Pay It Forward 4 Profits System. Joel and Paul are upgrading and updating the Member's area as well, so some locations might change, but essentially, what I'm posting here is a good foundation for us all to work with.

It now includes 7 steps, and here it is:

7-Step Configuration and Startup Process For Newbies

1) Getting Started Checklist.

2) Listen to "Crash Course In Funded Sponsoring" found under the Training tab.

3) Affiliate menu - "Setup Your Complete Funded Sponsoring System". Start at the top and work down finishing with "Upload Affiliate Links".

4) Get On A Quick Start Call. (Schedule found in the Live Training section under the Training tab)

5) Do Day 1 And Day 2 of the Success Guide (Found under the Marketing tab).

6) Get On A Fast Start Traffic School Call. (Schedule found as in #4 above)

7) Get back into Success Guide, Starting on day 3 and just keep on going. Keep on attending the Fast Start Traffic School calls, and as much Training as you can.

Also, in the Live Training schedule, you'll see a place to register for the online conference training sessions held by Janet Legere. I also recommend those. I consider her my mentor (though she might not know it....LOL), and the sessions are great.

There it is...FINALLY.

I've also found a way to keep this post on top, I believe. If I can do that, I'll keep it right here for a while so it's easy to find.

As always, please call if you need me. Our team is just about 60 members right now, and I believe we'll hit 100 before the end of November. We're from all parts of the world, from Austrailia and India, to Singapore, Finland, the UK, the US, and Canada. Many of you are now enrolling members of your own, and it's becoming very exciting.

Keep up the good work everybody. The Pay It Forward 4 Profits system really does work if you simply DUPLICATE the process. Don't try to re-invent the wheel. Joel Broughton and Paul Birdsall have already invented it and handed it to you. Just follow the process, at your own speed, and everything else will follow.

Time Management For Home Business Owners

As each day passes, and more and more things need to get done with your business, you may find yourself alittle overwhelmed with how much is left to be done. This is nothing new, and a problem that almost every home business owner encounters.

There are too many things to do, and such little time! So how does one get all of these things done without interfering with family and friends time? The answer is simple enough, but not very easy to do. It's called Time Management. Managing your time to make your time spent during "business hours" the most productive it can be.

There are many distractions when running an online business that many people easily become victims of. Some at home examples are things that consist of your everyday. Things like the chores that need tending to, eager kids simply wanting your attention, the television blaring, dogs barking, errands that need to be ran, and on down the line.

Some classic examples of distractions that occur online are not as easy to identify, but can consume many hours if you're not aware of this. A good example includes just "surfing" for something, and you get sidetracked and end up reading something that you weren't even looking for to begin with! Another classic example is how many times you check your email a day, or how much time has passed before you last checked it. How much time do you spend visiting discussion boards or online communities? What about the emails you respond to? How much of your time is consumed by that? These are all examples of distractions that can get in the way of your businesses productivity.

It all boils down to time management. Listed below are some good things to consider when using your time online for business.

1) Make A List:

You've probably heard this before and with good reason! Write the things you need to do with your business down on a piece of paper. List in order the things by two factors. One is the importance, and the second is which of the things you least would like to do.

Once you have your list, put them in order of the things most important and are you're least favorite at the very top of the list. This way, the more important things that need to be done will get done first, and you won't procrastinate because it's written down. As you progress with your list, you'll find that the last things you need to do will go by very quickly because you'll enjoy doing it.

2) Set a time Limit
Let's say you spend on average 2 hours browsing forums and discussion boards on a daily basis. Is this really necessary? I mean, there are alot of good resources out the on forums, and you get to interact with like-minded individuals.. but is this helping your business?

The best way to stick to a plan is by giving yourself a specific amount of elotted time for each activity you conduct online. If you normally spend 2 hours in forums, and think this is simply taking too much away from your business, set a limit on how much you do it. Say to yourself, "Ok Jason, I will participate in forums for no more than 45 minutes. From exactly 12:15 to 1:00 today, I will spend this time browsing forums and being an active member." And stick with it!

3) Give Yourself A Break!
This may sound a little contradictory, but it's very true. If you have been working consistently for a few hours online, and find yourself to be slipping into the "dull glare" mode, give yourself a break. Step away from your computer for 30 mintues, and move around. Go to the fridge and grab a nice cold drink, and relax a bit. When you get done, you will feel more fresh and will be more focused on your list that you've already made to complete your daily business tasks.

4) Punish Yourself For Not Sticking With It.
This may seem a little weird, but it will work if you give it a chance to. For example, let's say that you need to get something done by a certain date and you don't. To make things more productive for you, punish yourself for not getting it done! I personally love those Little Debbie "Star Crunch" cakes. I usually have one every day. One time I told myself, I said, "Self, if I can't eat a Star Crunch unless I get these webpages uploaded by 5:20 today!". And when 5:20 came, I didn't have it done. So I punished myself for not completing the task by the time I set. I didn't eat one that day. Let's say you have a favorite TV show you absolutely love watching. You must complete 3 things on your list before you can watch it. And stick with it! Believe it or not, it actually works! But only if you stick with it.

Having many distractions can make things a bit more difficult with productivity when spending your time online. The first things to do to solve the time management problem is to identify what things are keeping you from being productive in your online business. The next step is to avoid these things at all costs. The hardest part is identifing these distractions. But after you do, more than half the battle is already over! I wish you much success with your businss and all your on and offline goals!

Newbies Training Process & Call Schedule

How many of you were on the Janet Legere training session today? Many of you, I hope. It was a good one. She made a couple of points I'd like to re-iterate here:

1) When you first join Pay-It-Forward-4-Profits, there is a lot of information made available to you. In fact, there's TOO MUCH information. At first it can seem so daunting that we can become like deer in the headlights: frozen and unable to move.

Don't let this happen to you. Understand something here: NO ONE EXPECTS YOU TO KNOW EVERYTHING TOMORROW!

In fact, no one expects you to know ALL of it EVER.

The Success Guide is a HUGE load of information. It's designed that way, not so everyone will do everything in it, but so you can find several marketing methods that fit and that you're comfortable with, either financially or psychologically. Picking any three or four marketing methods within the Success Guide, and doing them with focus and dedication, will assure your success.

Also, be sure you don't try to do too much at one time. We're talking a lot lately about TrafficSwarm, Direct Matches, Top Surfer, etc., and the list can go on and on. Well, just because you hear about something doesn't mean you have to put it into your marketing plan TODAY. In fact, it doesn't mean you have to put it into your marketing plan AT ALL. It simply means that there is a tool available that you might want to look into, evaluate, and possibly incorporate.

Remember: This is Not A Sprint.....It's A Marathon.

Read the article I posted a day or so ago about being a hedgehog or a fox.

Be the Hedgehog! Take your time. Incorporate one thing at a time, at your own pace. When you do incorporate something, stay focused. Don't get side-tracked by this web page, or that offer, or this new product or system. There's a gazillion things out there. If you don't stay focused you'll become what's known as a "program hopper". Those are the people who always say, "I tried everything, but nothing worked". Well, no wonder!

One more thing on this: If you find yourself "stuck" on something, like one day in the Success Guide, or setting up one traffic exchange, DROP IT! Just get UN-STUCK, move on, and go on to something else. Sometimes we want to be so letter-perfect that we neglect to write anything. Just let it go and move on.

The main point here is this: cut yourself a little slack. Go at a comfortable pace for you. If that's slower than the guy on the terminal next to you...so be it.

Guess what...the Internet will still be there when you arrive.

2) The process for new enrollees: I liked what Janet said this morning. Mainly because it's what I've been saying since the new call schedule went into effect. I'm expressing it a little differently, and I think it's a little clearer, but it's basically the same.

This is a little more detailed than the last time I posted it, and it's designed for an absolutely perfect situation, which rarely happens. But, that said, here's how I like to see it go:

What New Enrollees should do, and what you Sponsors should tell your new Enrollees:

1) Complete the Getting Started Checklist. That includes "Setting Up Your Complete Funded Sponsoring System", the affiliations menu on the left hand side of your Member's Area. They should also listen to the "Crash Course In Funded Sponsoring" recording found under the training tab in your Member's Area.

2) Get on a Quick Start Call to make sure your system is correctly configured.

3) Complete Day #1 And Day #2 in the Success Guide found in the "Marketing" tab of your Member's area. This will get you aquainted with your new websites and what they do. It will also make sure your autoresponders are upgraded and loaded correctly.

4) Get on a Fast Start Traffic School Call, and pick up on Day 3 in the Success Guide.

Once you're into the Success Guide, you can start to check out some of the tools we have links to here in this blog. As you can see, there are tons of them available, and now I've got them seperated into catagories so things are easier to find.

I also made an .html file of the PIF4P call schedule, and mounted the page on the net so you can view it or download it to your computer. I keep it on my desktop so I always have it handy.

Are You The Hedgehog...
...Or The Fox?

Yuck! A hedgehog...

Not the most glamorous of all the beasts to compare yourself
with, for sure. So how did the lowly hedgehog become the
mammalian mentor for us all?

After all (and no offense to all you hedgehogs out there), it
appears to be nature's accidental cross between an armadillo and
a porcupine -- slow moving, methodical, prickly and not all that
bright.

The fox, on the other hand, is...well...FOXY! A quick-witted,
sleek, fast and agile predator, the fox seems to have the
attributes that we can easily imagine we share? (And even if we
don't, we pretend.)

Why compare a hedgehog to a fox anyway? It all started with
ancient lines of poetry that were found from a fragment of verse
by Greek poet Archilochus which says:

"The fox knows MANY things, but the hedgehog knows ONE big
thing."

One thing! And that's a good thing?

What about Renaissance men like Leonardo Da Vinci? He's one of
the exceptions to a very perplexing rule according to Jim
Collins, author of the classic business best-seller "Good to
Great". He picked up on the ancient hedgehog vs. fox comparison
in his book. All top level CEOs he says are very hedgehog-ish.

He tells this story:

"Day in and day out, the fox circles around the hedgehog's den,
waiting for the perfect moment to pounce... (The emerging
hedgehog) waddles along, going about his simple day, searching
for lunch and taking care of his home."

While minding his own business, focusing on vittles, the hedgehog
wanders right into the path of the fox. Sensing danger, he rolls
up into a perfect little ball, becoming "...a sphere of sharp
spikes, pointing outward in all directions. The fox, bounding
toward his prey, sees the hedgehog defense and calls off the
attack...Each day, some version of this battle between the
hedgehog and the fox takes place, and despite the greater cunning
of the fox, the hedgehog always wins."

The hedgehog ALWAYS wins!

Think about this: Are you a hedgehog, or a fox?

Your answer holds the key to whether you'll be successful in
business or life!

Nobody wants to be a hedgehog. Admit it. How boring is that?

He doesn't see much of the world. He's too focused for that. He
doesn't learn all the latest hunting tools and tricks because his
world view is boiled down to just what he needs.

In "Good to Great," a terrific book by the way, Collins says the
hedgehog "reduces all challenges and dilemmas to simple -- indeed
almost simplistic -- hedgehog ideas."

"For a hedgehog, anything that does not somehow relate to the
hedgehog idea holds no relevance."

Ever known anyone so focused that they could only pursue a single
goal? Ever known anyone so focused on that goal that nothing else
mattered?

Think about Olympians. Even thought the Winter Olympics may be a
distant event to us, there's a 10-year old girl somewhere who
gets up at 3:30 every morning to practice figure skating
compulsories for four hours before school. The Winter Olympics is
all she thinks about.

And NOTHING else matters!

Foxes on the other hand, "pursue many ends at the same time and
see the world in all its complexity. They are 'scattered or
diffused, moving on many levels.'"

Multi-tasking with too many balls in the air at once already,
we're asked to do more and be more. Our bosses want us to be
busy, working hard, doing as much as possible.

Yet the fox "who pursues many ends at the same time" NEVER wins!

And the guy who gets the promotion or has the very successful
business is the one who focused on fewer tasks and did them
well.

That was one of Collins' points -- instead of demanding too much
from employees and executives; we should demand one BIG thing.

Think this doesn't apply to you? Wanna bet? You're an employee or
an executive -- or both -- if you're self-employed. And just
because you may wear many hats doesn't get you off the hook
either. Focusing on the hedgehog ideas even when you're doing the
grunt work is the key to your success.

Okay, so it's good to be a hedgehog.

How do we become one if we're a fox by nature?

It's simple. You act as if...

What would the hedgehog do? He'd focus on hedgehog ideas. Don't
know what your hedgehog ideas are? Sure you do. You're just not
focusing on them. This will help:

1) What six things are vital to the success of your business this
year?

2) Narrow it down to three -- two's better

3) Make 'em BIG

4) Focus on those only

5) Nothing else matters

Make this part of your soul. Eliminate everything that is not
helping you focus on your goals.

Keep working at it and some day you'll be a hedgehog too.

Correction To Call Schedule

It was called to my attention that the call schedule had actually changed since I posted it several days ago. The Friday Fast Start Traffic School call had changed to 1PM EST

I will point out that the change was reflected in the "Live Training" section of your Member's Area, but in the interest of clarity, I'm posting correctly again, and I've changed it in the previous post.

Quick Start Call Schedule:

Mon: 1PM (EST)
Wed: 1PM (EST)
Thurs: 8PM (EST)

Call-in #: 1-646-519-5800 / PIN#: 9810

The Quick Start Call is now the FIRST ITEM OF TRAINING for all new enrollees.

After a new enrollee attends the QS call, you will direct them to "Set-Up Your Complete Funded Sponsoring System", the black menu items on the left hand side of their Member's Area. They should start at the top button and proceed downward through each button there, ending with "Upload Your Affiliate Links". That will get their system put together and ready to go.

At that point, new enrollees should proceed to Day 1 and 2 of the "Internet Marketing Success Guide", which will get them aquainted with their new websites and their autoresponders and how they work together.

AFTER they have completed those chapters in the Success Guide, THEN new enrollees should go on to the "Fast Start Training School" call.

Good evening / morning to all. I hope you're getting a lot out of the blog. I'm told that last night's article did help to assuage some of the misapprehensions about "getting behind" that some of you were apparently feeling. That's good. We all do what we can do, and we're all going to move at our own pace, so....no worries.

On the Fast Start Traffic School call on tuesday, Rick Jorgensen spoke about Direct Matches, a networking website that is an excellent place to generate some traffic to your website. As you know, you need a referral link to join there and I was having some trouble obtaining one. Last night Janet Legere passed me hers. I joined, upgraded for more mailbox size, poked around the site some so I would know what I was talking about if you had questions, and now I can pass my link on to you:

You can go there and join, and then simply follow the directions Rick gave on the FSTS call. Within the next day or so, for those who couldn't attend the call, I will be posting directions for what to do when you have a Direct Matches account. Look for that before the end of Sunday night (PST).

Remember, the Fast Start Traffic School calls are not duplicates. They will change, as I'm sure the Quick Start Calls will change. I heard the first FSTS call on Tuesday, but I plan to attend the call again tomorrow evening. As Rick said, there are many subjects that will be covered in upcoming calls, and I'm sure we can all benefit.

Lotsa Treats, Tools, And.....
..... A Rant!

Well, I got a lot of stuff for you tonight, so let's get going......

First off, I just want to say that I realize I'm loading a ton of stuff onto my Pay It Forward 4 Profits members here on the blog. Please, as you often hear me say, don't let yourself get overwhelmed.

Setting up your PIF4P business correctly, moving from there into free marketing techniques, taking your first steps into more aggressive advertising, and from there into exploding the size and momentum of your Pay It Forward business, is a step-by-step process. Nobody, and certainly not me, expects you to implement all of the tools and strategies I've posted here over the last couple of weeks in one day! That's not how this is supposed to work.

Still, I've been talking to some of my students who are concerned because they're trying to download all of this information, the software, tools, and resources, on a daily basis....and then trying to implement it all in one day!

Remember: This is a marathon....not a sprint!

Some of this may stem from misunderstanding about how a blog works. You should know that these posts aren't going anywhere. If you look at the menu on the right, you'll see a section called "Archives". Everything I post here for you will stay right on this page for 30 days. After that, it will simply move into the "Archives" section. There's not much there now, if anything, because the blog isn't old enough, but soon that area will begin to be a great repository of information.

Also in that menu, you'll see a little search box utility that says "Search This Blog". That search box is provided by Technorati, a blog index website. Steve-Talk is indexed by Technorati, so if you want to find anything I've posted about....oh, say GDI...you'd simply put GDI in the search box. Then a window would open and you'd be at Technorati. There you'd find every post I've ever done that mentions GDI, with the title and first five or six lines of the post visible in a list.

So...don't worry. If you've just come aboard, or you feel you're you're getting behind on what I'm posting......RELAX. It will all be here when you're ready for it.

You should at least read through anything new here before starting work. If you see something you want to download and implement today...put it on your list, but only if adding it is reasonable scheduling (see my previous post concerning Time Management). If not, download whatever it is and put it in a "To-Do" file to be scheduled when it is reasonable and feasible. Alternatively, you could simply make a note to come back to the post another day.

Another thing before we get started: Those of you who were on the "Fast Start Traffic School" call last night got some really good information. First you learned about Traffic Swarm, and Rick gave you an address where you could download instructions and software for maximizing your use of TS.

Well, if you're checking in here, you probably realized that Rick's stuff is exactly what I posted here about two nights before the call. Don't want to blow my own horn...but I will:

Also on last night's call, you heard a mention of Direct Matches. I've known about Direct Matches for a while, but DM is a "by invitation only" organization, so I've not gotten in as yet. You can check that out when you get there, but like Desktop Lightning, you can get advertising for free, so just go ahead and join and set up your ads. When you get used to doing your daily TrafficSwarm thing, add another few minutes and surf Top Surfer as well. This one's actually a lot more fun than TSwarm....you'll see why once you join. The different options it presents also make it very powerful. Check it out. It'll bring you TRAFFIC.

INSTANT BUZZ

Instant Buzz, another Free to join Traffic generator, came on the scene about six months ago. It was recently purchased by Mike Filsaime. If you don't know who Mike is...you will soon if you're going to be doing business on the Internet. Mike is one of the most famous Internet marketers in the world, a proponent of what is known as "Viral Marketing", and author of the book "The Butterfly Manuscript". Soon after Mike took over, Instant Buzz began online conference training calls conducted by...you guessed it...Janet Legere, one of my mentors, who conducts online conference training sessions for Pay It Forward 4 Profits every Monday. TRACK-THAT-AD

TrackThatAd is another Mike Filsaime winner, in conjunction with Craig Heywood ("The Blue Guy"...don't ask, LOL). This is an incredible tool. If you've already clicked on any of the links above, you've seen Track that Ad in action. When you join FREE, you can enter your Pay It Forward 4 Profits website url and Track That Ad will transform it into another one. You then use THAT url (and you have a lot of cute little choices there) to promote PIF4P. You can enter it in your ads in TSwarm and Top Surfer instead of the conventional url supplied by PIF4P. When you use that url, your ad is tracked...you can tell what source your hit came from, and WHO the hit was, even down to their ISP address.

If you upgrade at TTA, you can also employ this great list-building feature: When someone views your page through a TTA url, they will also see a spot where they can investigate and join TTA. If they click through there, you can have their information automatically sent to your Traffic Oasis autoresponder to enter them in the newsletter series you have over there. That's, of course, if you're a member there and have upgraded your account. At any rate, this is a great tool, and even at the free level you can build a downline in Track That Ad that will help to build your contact list like CRAZY. Plus, you know which of your ads are working and which aren't...something you MUST know to be effective. I wouldn't be without this one.

Well...there's a whole lotta poop for ya! LOL

Now, a rant:

Today I came across a Pay It Forward 4 Profits ad while surfing at Top Surfer (and yes.....I still crave FREE advertising!). Here was the Headline:

"Are You A Affiliate Loser?"

Anyone notice anything? Hmmm?

Not a bad idea as far as direction there...I mean, someone who runs an ad with the headline of "Does Your Life SUCK?" can't throw stones, so I won't go after the insult thing. From a marketing standpoint, shocking can be good.

No, what gets me here is the incorrect grammar. "...A Affiliate"?

Would you respond to an ad and sign up under someone who you might suspect was a functional illiterate?

No... You wouldn't, and neither would I!

Now, that doesn't mean you can't be a functional illiterate and still be effective in this industry...you can...and I know several functional illiterates that ARE!

BUT...and here's the BIG BUT...they check their ads.

That's a simple process. It just takes a moment, if you're not sure of something, to call someone and ask. But, here's a better process:

Write your ads out in a good word processor, like WordPerfect, Word, or OpenOffice Writer. Then just ask it to check the grammar! It will tell you if there's anything wrong AND make suggestions as to how you might correct it.

JEEZ! What an idea! Using correct grammar when you're trying to attract people to your business opportunity. What will they think of next!

OOPS! Watch For The "Anti-Fraud" Test On TrafficSwarm

Two days ago I posted a method of building up your credits on TrafficSwarm, the best Free Traffic generation site out there, and one used by many Pay It Forward 4 Profits members. It's been pointed out to me that there was something I neglected to mention.

Watch out for TrafficSwarm's "Anti-Cheat", or "Anti-Fraud" test ads!

As a means of making sure that no one is using any kind of mechanical surfing software, and therefore not actually looking at the ads you post while surfing for credits, TrafficSwarm posts FAKE ADS on the system. These ads are always clearly headed:

The rest of the ad will look like it's advertising something you might actually see on TS, but the headline is clear and can't be missed...IF YOU ARE LOOKING!

If you click one of these ads, you'll get a warning. The warning states that: 1) you've gained no point, and 2) you have 5 clicks of anti-fraud ads allowed...if you click a sixth one, your account will be deleted.

Now, if your account is actually deleted, you can always open another with another e-mail address, BUT you will lose all of the credits you've accumulated.

This may all sound simple...just watch out for the fake ads. I can tell you, though, that if you're really buzzing along, using the method and software I gave you in my post of the other day, it's very easy to click before you realize what you're doing. I've got THREE anti-fraud clicks against me right now. The first I actually read. I clicked it because Ithought it was a real ad someone had created to be cute, and I wanted to see what the web site was! Boy, was I dumb! LOL. The second and third one I clicked on were simply because I was going fast and not paying attention.

So, watch for the "Anti-Cheat", or "Anti-Fraud" ads. Now I make it part of my process to simply scan all eight ads whenever I open a new page to see if there's one there. I do this before I start surfing the page. If there's one there I know I have to avoid it.

Be aware, also, that while surfing a particular eight ad group on TS, that every time you return to that page from viewing a full web page, the position of the eight ads is randomly shifted. That means that if there is an Anti-Cheat on the page...IT WILL NOT BE IN THE SAME POSITION AS THE LAST TIME YOU VIEWED THE PAGE! That was the reason I got my third violation: I knew there was an Anti-Cheat on the page I was surfing, but I incorrectly anticipated that it would be in the same place when I returned to the surf page, which it wasn't.

So...watch out for the ANTI-FRAUD ads. They can gittcha!

Also, I just wanted to say that there must have been a GAZILLION PIF4P members on the Fast Start Traffic School call last night. I can tell because of two things: this morning every other ad I clicked I saw Joel and Paul's faces staring at me, AND my credits were zooming out of my account! That means there are more people surfing and more PIF4P members advertising.

Some might think that's a bad thing. I disagree. It does mean that your ad will be seen by more people who are already PIF4P members. But, it also means that the community of TS is also enlivened right now. The folks who are NOT PIF4P members will be sure to notice the increase of our ads. They are going to get curious as to why the increase, and they're going to start looking further into it. AND...they are still the VAST MAJORITY of TrafficSwarm users. So, don't be concerned...it's a good thing.

Check back later...I'll be posting another FREE traffic generator that you can use WHILE you surf TrafficSwarm. It will get you more FREE hits, and I'll have it posted later today.

Fast Start Traffic School starts tonight.

Yesterday kicked off the new Quick Start calls for Pay It Forward 4 Profits members, and tonight we'll get the first Fast Start Traffic School call. This call is intended for all PIF4P enrollees who have completed the Quick Start call, and who have their Funded Sponsoring Franchise set up and ready to go.

The schedule for the new calls, as well as the ones continuing from the old schedule, is now posted in the Live Training section of your Member's Area. For your convenience, here again is the schedule for the new calls:

ALL PIF4P members should attend both calls, in that order, as soon as possible (and don't forget my GOOGLE ADWORDS $50 BRIBE - see below).
Then send your New Enrollees to the calls, also in that order. AFTER they've completed these two calls, you can send them to the Advanced Internet Marketing Success Guide.

One more thing: this is a suggestion I wanted to make on the Quick Start Call on Monday, but didn't have a chance.

It was suggested that the easiest way to inform your enrollees of the call schedule and the process was to initiate a Broadcast e-mail to your PIF4P list in Response Magic. That would work, of course, but members coming in after the broadcast would miss it...you'd have to send the broadcast every few days.

Instead of doing that, I've simply automated the process, and you might want to do the same.

If you've upgraded Response Magic (and you definitely should if you're serious here), you can edit the announcement e-mail (the first one after the confirmation e-mail) to include the call schedule and instructions to attend them, along with instructions for your new enrollee concerning what order. Then they know the process right from the start: from Quick Start to Fast Track Traffic School, to Success Guide. They're also each informed individually right from the beginning automatically, and you never have to bother with it. Seems to me that this is the way to go.

OK, I've spoken of this to several folks and said I'm passing it on, but rather than doing that individually, I'll do it here on the blog. All my team members should be checking in here daily for new posts, tools, and information. Those that aren't I don't consider to be serious anyway, so there you go.

For those of you who ARE here, I'm going to pass on to you now an extremely important tool:

We should all know about Traffic Swarm. It's one of the FREE affiliate programs in your Pay-It-Forward-4-Profits Member's Area under the tab "Upload Affiliate Links".

For those of you who have not yet set that up....STOP ANYTHING YOU'RE DOING AND DO THAT NOW! If you're signing people up without having completed that, you're signing them up in programs under me. Now, I don't really mind that (and I honestly would notice that and tell you right away), but the point is to set your system up so that these folks sign up in those programs under you. That way your "Proposal" (your Primary program) is "Funded" (advertising and lead collection to bring prospects to your primary program is paid for), and you have a fully functional "Funded Sponsoring Franchise" system working for you. So, if you haven't completed that, stop reading and do it now. Then come on back here and we'll get on with this. If you don't know how to do that, get on a "Quick Start" call and find out. The schedule for those calls is posted below in a previous post, and will appear in the "Live Training" section of your Member's Area in a day or so.

Now, back to Traffic Swarm........

I'm giving you access to two files. You can click on the links below, and download them to your computer. You will want to save them as you'll be referring to them all the time. One is an .htm file. that means it's actually a web page and will open in your web browser. The other is an Excel spreadsheet file. Those of you who have Microsoft Office, probably have Excel.

For those of you who don't have Excel....DON'T go buy it! It's expensive, and Bill Gates doesn't need any more money.

There you can download the "Open Office" suite. It's exactly the same as Microsoft Office, with similar programs. It will open any Microsoft Office document or file, such as Word docs, and Excel spreadsheets. It will also save documents and files in its own format or in a multitude of different formats. In other words, you can create documents in it and then save them as Word docs or Excel sheets. The only difference is this: It's FREE! So get your Office Suite there and save yourself some money.

Anyway, you'll need to download these two files. The .htm file, called "Get The Most From TrafficSwarm", consists of your instructions for making good use of TS, and how to use the other file to help you. You want to save it to your desktop or some other hand place so you can refer to it often. You might want to print it out for reference.

The second file is the spreadsheet for use with the TS system. It's called; "Get The Most From TrafficSwarm FREE Software", and here's something VERY IMPORTANT. . . After you save a copy to your desktop, but before you use it for the first time, right click on the icon and choose "copy". Then right click on your desktop again and choose "paste". This will create a second copy. You're going to fill your first one with information. You'll need a clean copy to continue when the first one is full. Every time you begin to use a new copy, go through this process so you always have a new, clean copy of the software at hand.

One other note: I obtained these files from an associate of mine in England. You'll find his information all over them. I've modified them to suit our purposes here at Pay-It-Forward-4-Profits. On the spreadsheet, you'll find links to Paul's online lottery business in the UK. I just want to give you a word of warning.....I know that, in some circles, online gambling and lottery businesses are all the rage. However, I'm very politically aware, and right now there is a huge debate going on in Congress regarding these types of businesses. I wouldn't be at all surprised to find them outlawed, or at least very heavily regulated within six or seven months. I can't recommend that anyone in the US get involved with that type of business right now, simply because you might find yourself in a somewhat touchy legal situation in the near future. There's no question of legality in Europe, or even here at present. However, the near future looks ver bleak for the US as far as online gambling and lotterey businesses are concerned. We're all adults here, and anyone can do what they wish. I just wanted to make sure you all knew that I'm not in any way promoting Paul's business.

Well, the Quick Start calls began this morning. I hope everybody was there. If you weren't able to attend, there are two more this week. Everyone on the team should attend one QS call, and then go on to the Fast Start Traffic School Call. The schedule and numbers for these calls is posted in yesterday's blog entry. You can find that below.

Now, it's come to my attention that a lot of you might be having trouble receiving my e-mails and those from PIF4P. The reason that's going on is that many ISP's are becomming "Thought Police" in their efforts to "Can Spam".

The large ISP's, like MSN, Verizon, Charter, AOL, etc., have programs in place that scan all e-mails looking for words that indicate that the message might be spam. Those words include, "confirm", "free", "order", and of course, anything like "Cialis", "Viagra", etc.

In other words, if I write to you that " I want my country to be free in order to enjoy the benefits of that type of society, and I hope you'll confirm that you feel the same", the message is likely to be considered Spam by the ISP.

Most ISP's store "Spam" messages in a folder within their we application. If you are using a stand alone client program for your e-mail, like Outlook Express, Eudora, or Incredimail, adding senders to your address ook in there will not help. The problem is before your mail ever gets there...it's at you ISP. You'll need to go to your ISP's web mail interface. There you'll probably find a foldr marked "Spam" or "Junk Mail". Within that folder, you're likely to find a lot of e-mails from me or PIF4P, or one of the other companies you've affiliated with.

After you've located this folder, most ISP's will give you a choice that will allow you to tell them to let messages from a certain sender pass on through. You'll see something that will say, "Add Sender To Address Book", or "Whitelist", or "Allow Sender". However your particular ISP presents it, you need to so that with all of the e-mails you want to receive. From then on, the ISP will know that it's OK to let you receive this e-mail.

Some ISP's have gone further. Charter, for instance, is apparently deleting e-mails without ever delivering them. I've had several instances of this reported to me by Charter users. Charter determines that a message might be spam, using their particular algorithym, so they simply dump it completely, and the owner of the e-mail address is never even informed. Isn't that special?

In my opinion, this is a particular threat to your business and mine. That's not to mention, of course, how it reeks of "Big Brother" deciding what's good for you to see and what's not.

Just as a side comment here: that's one of the things that really excites me about being involved in the Internet Marketing Industry. We ARE engaging in commerce and business. However, we're doing it in the New Frontier. We are pioneers in what is destined to become the new boom of the 21st century. We are NOT part of "Big Business" or "Corporate America". Even if we affiliate with corporate entities of some kind or another, we are Independent Contractors, promoting what we decide to promote. We are the true vangard of a new way of doing business, and I believe that we will, in not too long a time, precipitate a shift in money and power away from the old-time corporate structure, and into the hands of ordinary Americans (and Canadians, Europeans, Asians, and Africans, etc.), that will make the Industrial Revolution look like a sunday school class! The "dot com" boom of the '90s was simply a "pre-shock", like all the little rumbles that preceed a major earthquake. When the REAL shock comes it's going to be huge, and it's beginning right now! AND...you and I are there, involved, contributing, and will be among the primary beneficiaries. It's so exciting!

Now, off the soapbox: Here's a suggestion as to how to get around the ISP problem...

You have a GDI account that you set up when you first enrolled in PIF4P. Now, the main purpose of that account is to enable you to enroll others in the GDI opportunity. However, why not use what GDI provides to you? You're paying for it; use it! At GDI, not only do you have the ability to create a 10 page web site (that's what my Online Home Business Learning Center is....why not create something similar for your enrollees??), but you also have the ability to create and use 10 e-mail addresses. GDI does not censor your mail, you get everything sent to you in your inbox. They also have a very fast and easy to use interface, or you can set it up as a POP3 account for use with your stand alone client. Once you've done that, just go to PIF4P, Response Magic, GDI, Traffic Oasis, and any other program you might have joined, and change your user info there. From then on, you'll get all your e-mails.

What?? You don't have a GDI account? For God's sake! It's $10 a month! Log into your Member's area, click on the botton that says "Setup Your Complete Funded Sponsoring System", and get one.

We do have some folks on the team who are not just Newbies at Internet Marketing, but Newbies as far as computers as well. I have one thing to say: get over it! Just kidding....

Seriously, there's nothing wrong with being inexperienced on the computer, we all start somewhere. The thing is, however, that this is going to be your workplace, and you need to become proficient as quickly as you can. My problem is that, as our team grows, I'm finding that I'm beginning to spend a lot of time teaching computer use, when I should be teaching marketing techniques.

So, here's a resource to help you guys out....and me. It's called "The Newbie Club". They provide all sorts of computer learning and tutorials. If you want to learn how to build your GDI web site, or if you just want to learn how to copy and paste in Windows, these guys are the place to go. I've used them to brush up on HTML language and have really gotten better at it, so if I'm talking to you here, just follow this link to check them out.

Secondly, I did send a broadcast e-mail out to everyone giving them a link to RoboForm. However, since people haven't been getting e-mails, I'm going to post the link here so we can all come back to it if we need to. Roboform is a great little program that sits in your Internet Explorer toolbar and saves, stores, and remembers all your user names and passwords for your various websites. When you want to go to any site where you have to login, you simply drop down your "Logins" menu from RoboForm and click on the passcard for that page. RoboForm takes you there, enters your Uname and Password, and then clicks you right on through to the inside. It's a great little timesaver, and it's free. So download it and use it. It's kewl.

So...there's the new process. It will be much easier for enrollees and sponsors alike.

AND...there's the bribe: EVERYONE should attend these calls as soon as you can, whether you're a new enrollee or an actively recruiting sponsor. Sponsors...you need to know what your enrollees are experiencing so you can help them with it, AND a little review never hurts anyone. I'm going...you should as well. Is Time Your Friend Or Your Enemy?

In my experience, if you ask someone the question, "Would you like to be your own boss and work from home in your own home based business?", most people will answer, "Yes!".

The reality is, however, that most people who give it a try, do so without the the kind of preparation they actually need to make a success of such an endeavor. They go right for it, and then discover that they've simply not prepared themselves with the right tools and skills they'll need to be successful.

The major "faux pas" I find people to commit in this regard, is to begin a new business with no thought to time management. They simply go to work with no concrete plan for the structure of their day. Time becomes their enemy, rather than their friend. This can lead to two completely different traps: over-work or under-work.

Under-working is an easy trap in which anyone can get caught. When working on the Internet, there are billions of distractions: viewing hundreds of web pages each day, sifting through thousands of e-mails for those that we want to see. These activities, while necessary, can lead us to places where we suddenly come to the discovery that we've spent two hours doing nothing. It's all well and good to be on our computers all day, but are we doing something that will actually earn us money? Were we placing advertisements? Were we e-mailing prospects? Or were we simply surfing the net, being led by the nose from one useless waste of time to another?

Over-working is very popular as well. Having come to Internet marketing from the world of real estate, I know all about professions that can be done 24 hours a day. In Internet marketing, there is always something more you can do.

You probably know the feeling already. You plan to work eight hours. When the eight hour mark comes up you think, "Well, I'll just do this one more thing. It won't take a moment." Then that one thing presents something else, which leads to another, and soon you're at the 12 hour mark. I know all about this one, having found myself working up to 20 hours during one day when I first began. This is a truly dangerous pitfall. It's a sure path to "burn-out", and that will make you disaffected and totally ineffectual in your business.

You've got to do several things to avoid these dangers:

1) Plan your day.

Before you begin each day, or when you wrap up the day before, write down what you're going to do this day, and how much time you'll spend on it. Don't forget to include time for exercise, family, friends, and leisure activities. You want to build your business to provide you with an enjoyable lifestyle...not put you in the grave.

2) Be specific in your daily goals.

Let's not have any goals like, "Get something done on the advertising thingy...". That doesn't work. "Place two Google ads for the Podsnap account, and write an article on badger training for posting to my blog" is much more like it. This type of goal lets you know just what it is you need to do and also tells you when you're done with it.

3) Delegate or hire out what you can.

If you need a website created, but you know nothing about doing anything like that, find or hire someone to do it for you. Trying to figure it out yourself is going to chew up what might be productive time, turning it into a waste. If you would like to create websites in the future, go ahead and learn. But make it something you do in a timeframe specifically set aside for learning and training. Don't let it take you away from doing the things you need to do yourself on a daily basis.

4) Leave the multi-tasking to those with no focus!

All right, so multi-tasking is all the big rage...everybody's doing it. Just remember: not everybody is successful. Even with all of the advantages and opportunities afforded us by the Internet, 95% of all those who attempt to make it their workplace will fail. This is one of the main reasons why. Do one project at a time. After you complete it, go on to the next. Try, also, to avoid interruptions. If possible, schedule a time when you will return phone calls, instant messages, and e-mails. We all want to be available to our colleagues, prospects, and enrollees, but not at the expense of our own business.

5) Build in some "cushion time".

Stuff happens. Especially when you are working at home. If you plan your day too tightly, you'll find that you're forever falling behind in achieving your daily goals. If you figure that something should take two hours, give yourself two hours and fifteen minutes in your goal planning. That way, when the kids start screaming, or the dog barfs on the carpet, you'll have the "cushion time" to take care of it. If you complete your daily goals before it's time to quit, take a look at what's up for tomorrow. You'll might have time to eliminate something from that list right now.

6) Forgive yourself.

Remember: everybody screws up and no one's perfect. When you don't complete your daily goals by your designated quitting time...quit anyway. Simply move the items not completed to the next day, and adjust tomorrow's schedule accordingly. If you find you're always transferring from one day to the next, you're probably not scheduling objectively and need to re-evaluate.

These six items can literally make or break the success of your new home business. In my Pay-It-Forward-4-Profits and ProWealth Solutions businesses, I speak constantly with enrollees who are suffering from a lack of understanding of these six simple practices. I try to impress upon each of them the necessity of following these principles. Sometimes, in the face of the
excitement and anticipation created by the realization of just what careers in either or both of these companies might mean to them, it's just impossible.

I'll make my plea right here.

Take these items to heart. Follow them, and they'll serve you well as you attempt to balance a productive work life with a healthy personal and family life.

Forums, groups, boards, and loops; they’re all synonymous for online locations facilitating online networking. Some are entirely public, where everyone and anyone can click to the URL, read the messages and if they have no interest in contributing, they can just lurk. Some require active participation and others require registration before members can participate. These online forums, groups, boards or loops are different from paid membership sites in that there is no cost to network at these websites.

Some are active, some are sleepy. Some are strictly for business related topics; some allow more OT (Off Topics) and social interaction. There are forums for every imaginable topic: Entrepreneurs, International business, Health related fields, Technology, Copywriters, Web Designers, Work at Home Moms, Programmers, Finance, Ebay, Job Seekers, Internet Marketing, Writers, Inventors and Virtual Assistants, just to barely scratch the surface of what’s out there on the World Wide Web.

Time management skills need to be paramount when participating in online forums. You can very easily get swallowed up and spend hours and hours online networking with others who have online businesses, yet you miss real opportunities to get some productive work done!

From a business standpoint, there are two areas you should consider before participating in a loop. It’s always good to have a network of like-minded business people. If you’re a web designer, hang out with other designers. You can help and support each other. If you’re just starting out, you can learn from the pros.

Don’t get stuck though, just hanging out with your own kind. You’re not going to be very successful trying to promote your design services to other designers. This is where balance comes in. Pop into the boards, check new posts of interest, ask or answer questions, then get out. Then move onto groups who need your services or products. Who is your target market and where do they hang out? Go there. Word of caution: Do not go to these forums with the sole purpose of SPAMMING the group. You’ll be tossed out on your ear quicker than you can blink if that is your sole purpose. People like to do business with people they know and trust – or at the very minimum have at least heard of.

If you’re trying to sell your curriculum to a group of home school parents and you just pop in, spew your sales rap all over the boards then expect any sort of return, you’re missing the point of online networking. It’s networking – not advertising. You need to build a rapport with your other “loopies”. Then if a need arises and they know one of their own fellow networkers has that special skill or product, guess who they’ll call first? You hope it’s YOU.

For starters check MSN, Google, Yahoo, AOL, and Ryze. Inside there are literally hundreds and thousands of groups just waiting for you. Start networking your way to success today!

Everyone who has a website knows that to have sales you must have traffic, but not just any traffic it has to be targeted traffic.

What is Targeted traffic? It is simply visitors to your website that are interested in what your website is about. For example, people interested in buying jewellery will find jewellery websites interesting.

How do I get targeted traffic I hear you ask? The following are tried and tested methods:

Forums: Subscribe to forums that discuss your topic. Answer questions and join in the debates there. Become an expert in the field. Then with each article reply you write have a discreet link to your website in the signature file. What can be placed in your signature is often determined by the forum moderators. Do not spam the forum or you will be stopped from posting. This is one of the most productive ways of getting free traffic as those who click your link have already read and liked your style.

Linking from/to other websites: Contact website owners that have similar but not competitive websites to yours, ask them for a reciprocal link from their website to yours. Be sure to select your link partner to match closely your customer profile. Software programs such as Arelis are very helpful in this process.

E-Zines: Contact e-zine owners that have your target readership and buy advertisements from them. Be sure to have a test run to see that the return on investment is sufficient to cover the costs involved. If you are buying an extended run of advertisements haggle with the e-zine owner over price. You may save a considerable amount.

Newsletters: When people visit your website offer them something of value for free if they sign up to your newsletter (like an e-Book). Your newsletter should be written tightly geared towards your topic. It should be published regularly at weekly intervals.

E-Books: Often used, these are usually free informational books for your clients and for others to give away free if they leave your links in the book itself. You can place links back to your website in the books you sell or give to your clients.

Joint Ventures: Contact online marketers looking for new products to sell. They often have large mailing lists with eager to buy customers. Normally they are willing to email their list for a cut of the sale price. This works particularly well with informational products. It has several advantages. It can give a very sizeable boost to both your sales and mailing list within a very short period.

Buy Traffic: This is probably the cheapest in terms of time and most expensive money wise. It gives a traffic boost normally within 30 days. What are you buying? You are buying traffic from expired domain names which the company selling the traffic has bought. They are domain names still registered on the search engines which get a considerable amount of traffic. The previous domain name owners have either lost interest in the name or simply forgot to renew the registration. This means that the traffic from the expired domain name is simply redirected to your website. This is usually high quality traffic as only websites with traffic such as you want is redirected to you. As always, a test run to see if this traffic is suitable should be undertaken.

When you combine these techniques and apply them consistently over time you will find a rich source of targeted traffic coming to your website. This, combined with quality products will ensure the success of your online business.

The world of Internet commerce is a weird one!

I sit in the middle of three acres of forest in my little mountain house in Big Bear Lake, California. I promote several network style enrolling businesses. In fact, the last article I posted here concerned how to keep your downline working and happy over the long run.

One of the things I do to achieve that is to keep in constant communication with them. I sit here and speak with team members from all over the U.S. and Canada...AND the entire world! I have enrollees from the U.K., Finland, New Zealand, even Finland! I speak with them whenever I want, and they feel free to call me at any time.

So, here's the question that most people ask me: How can I do that without going broke with the long distance charges?

The answer is VOIP, or Voice Over Internet Protocol. This is a system that allows you to make phone calls over your Broadband Internet connection.

There are many different choices these days for a VOIP provider, and they offer many different types of service. Some tap into your regular phone and transform it to a VOIP access terminal. Others work through your computer as any other program, and make use of your computer microphone or headset.

I'm currently using a little program called Skype, and I find it's a truly remarkable product. Not least among its features is that it's FREE! The second great feature is that it can be passed on via a simple link in an e-mail to anyone in the world. When they receive it, they can download it for free and begin using it themselves.

Skype works like this: you follow the link to the website, where you download and install the program. It's small and takes about 30 seconds on a normal broadband connection. Once it's installed, and you've confirmed that your microphone and speakers are installed and working properly, you can egin using it for free!

The basic Skype plan goes like this: you can talk to anyone in the world, anywhere in the world, absolutely free, providing that person is also using Skype. So, copy the link into an e-mail, and send it to everyone you know, letting them know that they should pass it on as well, and so on. Because it's free, most people will download and use it, even if they eventually want to use a "regular phone" style VOIP provider in the future. Just having it there comes in really handy.

You can also call any landline or cell phone within the U.S. and Canada for free as well. That means, even if someone doesn't have Skype, you can call them for free to tell them to get it!

Now, why should you do that? Because that free landline and cell phone provision lasts only until the end of this year. After that, Skype will charge $24.95 a month to retain that service. The Skype to Skype service will remain free, but the service to landlines and cellphones will not.

So, what does that mean? That means that we all need to spread the Skype program out to as many folks as we can between now and midnight on December 31st! If you pass it on to all you know, and they do the same, you'll really never have to deal with long distance charges again!

Skype does offer other features. They will provide a regular phone style instrument that connects to your computer, or one that plugs directly into your modem so you can turn off the computer and still access your VOIP line. They do charge for these types of phones, but they are one-time charges that don't recurr on a monthly basis. They also offer landline and cell phone calling outside the U.S. and Canada at a nominal fee...much less than your current long distance carrier.

Keep Your Downline Active for The Long Term

Anyone who has recruited more than a couple of people into their organization have experienced the "revolving door" syndrome - where you recruit one person and it seems two others drop out. Obviously, this is frustrating and makes you wonder why it is so difficult to get your downline to stay active. It is even more frustrating to see people leaving faster than you can recruit them. Realize this happens in every business that fails to implement the one often forgotten element of retention.

Too often we are so caught up in recruiting new downline that we forget about the downline we already have. We focus all of our energies on the toughest part of building the business which is recruiting. Yet we forget to take action on the easiest part: Follow-up customer service.

While follow-up customer service may seem difficult to get to sometimes, it is extremely important for future growth and improving your retention rates. The number of people in the downline who drop out should not be dropping out like they are. People drop out because they are often ignored or forgotten by their up line.

Your goal should be to improve the retention within your own team and to make your customer service to your downline a priority. It is far more difficult to recruit new downline than it is to follow-up and follow-through with those you already have.

Below are seven things you MUST do to ensure your "revolving door" in your organization stays locked and to keep your downline active for the long term:

1. Implement a customer service policy. If you truly want to build a solid and profitable network marketing business, you need to implement the following policy: Provide service and follow-up to your downline.

2. Follow-up is following-through. Just because someone signed on the dotted line, does not mean the sale is complete. You must follow-up with your new downline within one week. Call them within one week of their purchase to ensure they are happy and are using the product/service. If they want to build the business, call to make certain they are tapping into the resources and getting off to a good start.

3. Staying in contact shows you care. In your prospecting and recruiting efforts, you planted seeds to start the relationship building process. Stay in touch with your downline. Doing so will show you care and value their business. Staying in touch will also provide you with an opportunity to get additional business and to strengthen the relationship.

4. Anticipate the needs of your downline. By staying in contact, you can anticipate or stay ahead of your downline needs. You will strengthen your relationship and will more fully understand their current needs. This ultimately leads to anticipation of future needs. Try to always think ahead. This will help you keep your downline happy, satisfied and even can help you to exceed expectations.

5. Keep records on your downline. As your business grows, it will become impossible to keep all downline information and individual needs in your head. You must create customer files with personal information on your downline. This information should include notes on your conversations and on their current or potential needs.

6. Work closely and be supportive. No one is guaranteed success. However, you will be amazed at how high of a success rate you will have with those you personally sponsor when you work closely with them and are supportive of their efforts. Granted some people will never do what they need to do and you can't build the business for them. But, if you provide support and show you care, you improve the retention of your downline.

7. Create intimacy with your downline. What this means is to be genuine in your concern for your downline as a person. Show them you are not just in it to get their money. You must go beyond just an order taker and help people get what they want and need. The difference between you and your competition boils down to one thing - customer service. If you provide value through concern for them as a person and deliver quality customer service in every way possible, you will find your downline will be there for the long term.

Keep in mind, the stability of your residual income will be in direct proportion to your personal follow-up and customer service. Make follow-up and customer service your PRIORITY! As you build your business in the future, make certain you follow-up and follow-through with customer service. Your wealth depends on it!

With that being said, there are many ways to generate traffic; whatever product or niche you may be involved with. The key is to find the most effective yet most affordable alternatives.

Although it may be easy for big companies with deep pockets to throw cash into a pay per click campaign such as Google Adwords, for most home based businesses these costs can be daunting. Yet without targeted traffic no business can survive for long.

That's one of the great advantages to running an internet business. The home based business owner has many low or no cost options when it comes to advertising and drawing interested individuals to their sites.

Write and Submit Your Own Articles

By joining online forums you can also gain back links to your site by posting comments and using a sig file with your links in it.

Beware though that most forums frown on blatant advertising. You have to attempt to add something of worth with your posts or you may get banned.

Exchange Links

This may actually be the most difficult tactic. You must find sites that are in the same niche as yours but not necessarily in direct competition.

You also have to find sites that already have a good ranking in the search engines for this to be effective.

Always approach any site owner with grace and dignity. Be tactful and courteous. Remember, you attract more flies with honey than vinegar.

Use all five of these tactics on a regular basis and you'll surely see a climb in traffic.

There's always another promise of quick and easy money. Google will keep changing its algorithm, and new search engines are quite likely to pop up to challenge Google.

What can you do about this? Four main things:

(1) Continue To Educate Yourself.

Understand that those who rise to the top of any field - whether it's internet marketing or something else - are good at what they do. This means that they never stop learning. There are always new materials, new techniques and probably new 'experts' showing the way.

Most of us learn in three main ways: (a) from experts who specialize in a certain niche related to our field; (b) from others who are following the same path as we are, and (c) by trial and error, from our own results.

You will find that the more you immerse yourself in the world of internet marketing, the more you will be able to analyze which products, services and opportunities are right for you.

(2) Focus. Pick One System And Give It A Fair Go.

Countless people who start out on the internet with high hopes follow the same pattern. They get excited about a new product or system. They throw themselves into it and invest long hours (and potentially quite a bit of money) in getting it up and running. It might be e-books sold from mini-sites; it might be setting up an eBay business; it might be directory-type sites with text manipulators; it might be AdWords or content sites optimized for AdSense.

Then one day they get wind of another new system (probably one created by someone who claims "the gurus are angry with me for giving away all their secrets..."). Discouraged by the lack of results with the first "opportunity", they decide to let it rest for a while and try the new one. Back they go into the cycle of try-the-new-product, get-discouraged, discard-it-and-try-the-next-thing.

And so it goes on. Months pass. Perhaps years pass. They struggle to pay the credit card bills mounting from buying into every new system that comes along... with very little money coming in to offset their 'investment'. As they look back, they start muttering "If I had only known then what I know now..."

If you can recognize yourself in this scenario, the good news is this: Now you DO know better. You don't know what the next new product will be that's going to set the internet world abuzz, but you do know enough to choose a system that's right for you and stick to it.

(3) Take The Time to Plan.

Give yourself from two to four weeks to regroup. Go through all the products you have on your shelves or on your computer. Make a list. Decide which products you now know (so wise with hindsight!) to be worth keeping. Then analyze the 'keepers' and pick on the best system for YOU to use at this time. (This will depend upon your level of knowledge and which one you would enjoy most. Work with your strengths.)

Finally, devise a game plan. You are going to focus on this ONE method and devise a practical time-line to achieve results. Don't be in a rush. Make sure you give yourself enough time to see it 'take hold' so the money starts flowing in. That will give you the motivation to continue.

Clear the decks, physically as well as mentally. Put all the products that don't fit in with your plan in boxes or on disk for safekeeping. You may return to them one day, but if you've chosen the system that's right for you, you probably won't.

4. Don't Get Distracted by New Products.

Resolve to buy ONLY products or services that will save you time or money in implementing the system you have chosen. Never buy anything on impulse. Print out the sales letter, read it through, then put it aside. Read it through again the next day. Does it still seem so appealing? Check out a few forums to listen to the buzz. If a product doesn't deliver, you'll soon hear about it. If it is exceptional value, you'll hear about that, too.

Some questions to ask: "Will this help me to streamline the business I have chosen? Is it worth the money? Will it make a significant difference?" And above all, "Do I need this, or is it just another distraction?"

Resolve to make this the year you will succeed. No more pocket change. No more "If I had only known..."

You DO know.

So make it work.

Here are four things you absolutely Must Do, if you want to create a home based business that is efficient, fun, and will make you money quickly as well as in the long run.

1: Set Up A Business-Like Work Space.
We know that our surroundings influence our productivity. We cannot be completely productive working in the midst of clutter and disarray. The space you work in should be businesslike AND separate from your living area. You come here to work, not to be distracted by the normal occurrences of home and family life.

2: Research What Works And What Doesn’t.
Get on the Net! That’s where you’ll probably be spending most of your working hours. Browse around some business and work-at-home forums. See what others are saying about programs you might affiliate with. Check out some scam sites like The Rip-Off Report to see if what you’re looking at is for real or not. There’s a lot of crap out there, and you don’t want to spend a lot of time, effort and money on crap.

3: Fully Commit To The Project You Choose.
Most people who fail at working from home do so because of a lack of commitment and focus. Once you determine which type of work you’re going to be doing, jump into it completely. There are a lot of distractions like e-mail, and children. It’s easy to get sidetracked. Choose what you want to do and do it….fully and exclusively.

4: Set Your Goals And Visualize.
How can we possibly know what road to take if we don’t know where we’re going? This is age-old wisdom we’ve all heard before. The problem is that most often we simply never do it! Decide on your goals. Write them down. Be specific. Then VISUALIZE THEM. See yourself having them. If you can find pictures of that house, that car, those clothes, then get them. Print them out, and hang them right in front of your face so you are confronted with them all day long!

Technology...Hubbard is in escrow and they want to see some other stuff next week sometime so I'll be showing them some other cool lakefronts that have come up on the market. Jewels, if you read the last few posts you'll know what this is all about. I want to encourage you to post an comment as you wish. Welcome to SteveTalk, guys!

John, Brian, and......yes we know....that's Ronnie B. out there.........I want to give you and everyone the low-down skinny on what this place is all about, ok?

First of all, I've listed some preferred topics of conversation in my last post, but I'll hit them again: acting, film, theatre, music, real estate, Internet marketing, and working at home, and politics. That doesn't mean, however, that we need to feel too constrained. Ronnie, if you want to talk about photography here, that would be fine. Feel free. This is a place to have fun, learn, share, and argue in an enlightening manner, so let's all enjoy it!

One caveat is this: at present, I am not moderating any posts. What is posted, and the comments those posts glean, will go up immediately with no filter. However, if things get out of hand somehow, then I'll be forced to moderate posts. Now, by out of hand, I mean being abusive of others, slanderous or libelous comments, or content of a sexual nature that's way "over the top". I don't foresee anything like this, but you never know. If I have to moderate the posts that just means more work for me and a delay from when you post or comment until it appears on the screen.

OK....enough of that. Now, John, Brian, and Ronnie, you three and hopefully quite a few more, have responded to an invitation to be a "Team Member" on the blog. Anybody at all can comment on any posts here, but you must be a "Team Member" to initiate a post. If you are someone who would like to become a Team Member, just e-mail me and ask. I'm easy.

I do believe that this place might become somewhat more popular than you might suspect at first. I've registered this blog with "Technorati", a great website that's free for anyone who wants to use it. It's actually a blog interface that keeps track of your interests and searches worldwide for blogs that might interest you. It uses a keyword system, and I've registered the keywords relating to the topics I mentioned earlier. So, what we talk about here just might be showing up on a website viewed by millions daily. You should go to Technorati and check them out!

Now, because of this, and because I'm interested in Internet marketing, I want to invite everyone, always, to post your links here! John, you're a Realtor. I'm sure you have a website and you'd like more traffic. Just e-mail me with your link and what you'd like to name it, and I'll post it in the links section. Also, you guys who have businesses, family sites, or other sites you'd like to promote.......go ahead and do it here. The more links we put up here, the more we're crawled by spiders from Yahoo, Google, and sites with their own spiders, like Technorati, the more the possibility increases that the right someone, at just the right time, will click on a link you've left. So....PROMOTE YOUR LINKS, guys. Develop a signature like the one I'm using in this post, and use it all the time! Just please try and keep the signatures to no more than 7 lines or so, ok?

Anyway, that's it! Post your blurbs and comments! Promote your links, business, family websites, hobbies, resources....whatever! The Internet is the last frontier, so let's enjoy it and make use of it while we can!

Ok, let's see how this thing works. I admit I am a total dork when it comes to this stuff. Why don't we just pick up a phone and talk? What the hell's wrong with that? Or G-d for bid we should stop in and see someone at their home? Alright. I guess I can be computer friendly. I'm writing now, so I guess this is a good start. Steve, I'm sure you've guessed by now who this is. What other artist / photographer do you know who took that nifty photo of you, which by the way you didn't give a "by" line to. I'm gonna have to charge you for that now. Ok, do I have the hang of this? Is this what they call a blog, or is this just random thoughts? Or is that what a blog is, random thoughts? Whatever, I'm here and I'm here for your amusement, Steve. Next time you leave a message you should tell the person your full name followed by your profession, phone number and blood type. That way I'll know it's not my brother-in-law. Ok, I'm done for now. I just got in from a 20 mile bike ride around the lake on the triplet with my daughter dragging her feet on the pedals. Welcome To "Steve Talk"

Well....here we are. Welcome to my new blog, SteveTalk. I'm Steve and you're not (I've always wanted to say that, LOL).

This blog will be a place where we can all talk about acting, theatre, film, real estate, politics, and I-Marketing. How's that for eclectic?

We can also throw in some dog stuff (my owners name is Cimarron), and occasional forays into sprituality (from Christian to Buddhist, to whatever).

Well, that leaves us with almost no walls, doesn't it? Seriously, I'm really looking to have discussions that can educate and entertain, with folks who want to talk about the things I've mentioned. I do love my small mountain town, Big Bear Lake, CA, but we are rather isolated up here, and hearing the thoughts of people from different backgrounds is always enlightening to me.

I'll throw in a couple of guidelines for those of you who don't know me yet. I was a professional actor for many years, but left it in 1988 when the "Big City" got to be too much for me. Moving to Big Bear, I became a Realtor and have been for twelve years, keeping active in theatre locally. Recently I've left real estate as a full-time profession, and have moved into working from home in Internet Marketing. I've affiliated with several companies, but my main business focus at this time is concentrated on Success University and Pay-It-Forward-4-Profits, two well known and wonderful companies. I also have my own website known as Affiliate SalesInfo Depot. It's REEEAALLLLYYYY UGLY right now, but I'm going to make it better. Check those things out if you want, but if you don't ....... let's just schmoooooze!

We can talk about all of those things, and anything regarding politics, if you want to get into that. If you do, I should warn you from the start: my political views fall just a little to the left of Vladimir Lenin (apologies to Rush Limbaugh, although saying that hurts). I'm an left-wing, Irish socialist from way back, and that's what you'll get from me. Weird, huh? A left-wing Realtor? Go figure.

Well, there you are.....and there I am. Hope we can have some good times here.
